This exquisite Thai Lotus Silver-leafed Lacquerware keepsake box was handmade in Chiang Mai, Thailand by the skilled artisans of Barn Kern village.  It is the first one they've made with a decorative lift knob on the top. Beautiful, unique & one of a kind. 

Their traditional techniques passed down through generations use resinous sap tapped from a lacquer tree; and then the designs are intricately engraved before finally applying gold leaf in a slow 7 step process of drying the layers and reapplying.  Each piece is a unique work of art that has taken weeks to complete.
